Our Fees

Single Will (Basic)£325 plus VAT

Whilst our fees cover the usual full Will service we may charge additionally for exceptional matters such as letters
to third parties or Home/Hospital visits. These costs will be discussed and agreed with you before any work is
undertaken.

Our fee includes registration of your Will with Certainty National Wills Register and future storage of your Will.
Please note that VAT at a rate of 20% is payable on our fees and disbursements.

CODICILS

Single from £100 plus vat

Mirror from £150 plus vat

Our Service and Estimated Time scales

Our service usually involves two meetings. At our first meeting we will discuss your family and financial
background to ensure that all relevant factors are considered. Most importantly, we will discuss your precise
wishes in regard to your Will. Our aim is to provide you with a draft Will for approval within 7 working days.
Once you are happy with the draft provided, a second meeting is arranged for you to attend the office to sign the
Will. On completion within 7 working days we will supply you with a copy of the Will and the relevant paperwork
for the Certainty National Will registration.

Providing we have all your instructions, we estimate that the timescale from the initial meeting to executing the
Will to be between 2 and 4 weeks. If you require a Will to be completed with greater urgency, please inform us
accordingly.

LASTING POWER OF ATTORNEY (LPA)

There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney one that covers Property and Financial decisions and one that covers Health and Welfare decisions

Our Fees

LPA for a single person – one LPA£400 plus VAT
LPA for single person – both LPA’s£550 plus VAT
LPA’s for a couple – one LPA for each£550 plus VAT
LPA’s for a couple – both LPA’s for each£750 plus VAT

Whilst our fees cover the usual full LPA service we may charge additionally for exceptional matters such as letters
to third parties or Home/Hospital visits. Such costs will be discussed and agreed with you before any work is
undertaken.

Our fee includes future storage of your LPA.

GENERAL POWER OF ATTORNEY

General power £200 plus vat

RENUNCIATION/REVOCATION/REGISTRATION

Renunciation of Attorney £200 plus vat

Revocation fee (price for 1 or 2) £100 plus vat

Single court registration of single document £400 plus vat

Third Party Costs

In addition to our fees stated above, there is a registration fee payable to the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG)
which is £82 per LPA. This fee may be either reduced or exempt in certain circumstances.  We charge £15 plus vat for a certified copy.

 

LIFETIME TRUST SERVICES

Bare Trust (trust for minors) £500 plus vat

Discretionary Trust (family trust) £1200 plus vat

Policy Trust (protection of life policy/pension plan proceeds or death in service benefits £500 plus vat

Declarations of Trust from £450 plus vat

Deeds of Appointments (from Trust/ of Trustees) from £395 plus vat

Deeds of Variation from £400 plus

 

Our Service and Estimated Timescales

Our service usually involves two meetings. At our first meeting we will discuss your wishes. Our aim is to provide
you with a draft of the LPA within 7 working days. Once you are happy with the draft provided, a second meeting
will be arranged to complete signing formalities. We will then arrange for your Attorneys to also sign the
documents. We will complete the formality of registering the document on your behalf at the Office of the Public
Guardian.

Providing we have all your instructions, we estimate that the preparation of your LPA from the initial meeting to
executing the LPA to be between 2 and 4 weeks

Once the LPA has been fully signed by all parties and you have put us in funds with the Court Registration fee we
will within 7 working days submit the registration application to the Office of the Public Guardian. The Court’s
timescale for dealing with the registration application is typically 6-8 weeks (which includes the Court’s
statutory registration period). Once the registered document is returned by the Court we will provide you with a
copy within 7 working days.

PROBATE (Non-Contentious)

We offer a flexible approach to our Probate Service and we will be pleased to discuss the precise level of help and
support that you need.

If you simply require us to extract the Grant of probate on your behalf then we are pleased to offer a fixed fee
service.

Our Fees

Quick Probate Service

£1100 plus VAT

Quick Probate Service with full inheritance tax account

£2500 plus VAT where HM Revenue & Customs require a Full Estate Account

Our Service and Estimated Time Scales

  • To attend you and collect from you all information required to complete papers leading to a Grant of probate.
  • Drafting of all required paperwork including HM Revenue and Customs Return and any claims for transferable and
    residential nil rate band relief available.
  • To attend you on the signing and swearing of papers
  • Lodge paperwork with and deal with HMRC and the Probate Court to extract Grant
  • Forward the Grant and court sealed copies to you as required.

Subject to receipt of full information we anticipate receiving the Grant of probate in around 4 weeks.

Third Party Costs

Usual disbursements involved in applying for a Grant of probate such as Probate Court fees and swear fees.

Alternatively, if you prefer to take advantage of our full estate administration service we can handle the full
process from start to conclusion

Full Probate Service

2% of the value of the estate plus VAT subject to a minimum fee of £3000 plus VAT. We will be pleased to
discuss the exact cost as this may depend on the individual circumstance of the matter.

Our Service and Estimated Time scales

  • Making full enquiries to ascertain the extent of the assets and liabilities of the estate
  • Completing all necessary paperwork and other formalities to apply for and obtain the Grant of Representation.
  • Dealing with and calculating any inheritance tax payable taking into account any exemptions and reliefs available.
  • Considering the income and capital gains tax position pre and post death.
  • Collecting in the assets of the estate, discharging the liabilities, expenses and taxes.
  • Distributing the estate to all beneficiaries entitled.
  • Preparation and provision of full Estate accounts and tax certificates.

We aim to extract the Grant within 6 to 8 weeks of instruction. Completion of the full administration typically
takes around 6 months although where there is a property to sell or inheritance tax to settle for instance the
timescale is likely to be between 6 and 12 months.

Whilst our fees cover the usual full estate administration service we may charge additionally for exceptional
matters such as dealing overseas assets, searching for missing beneficiaries; handling claims against and estate
and dealing with any faults in a Will. These costs will be discussed and agreed with you before any work is
undertaken.

In addition we will be pleased to discuss tax planning opportunities which may lead to additional work such as
preparation of a Deed of Variation.

Third Party Costs

Usual disbursements involved in applying for a Grant of Probate such as Probate Court fees and swear fees. Further
third party costs will arise depending on the nature of the matter and may include the cost of insertion of
Statutory Notices to Claimants, accountancy fees, Land Registry fees and valuation fees for instance.
